"Free Delivery"

WOW!  Things have REALLY CHANGED in healthcare!  I never thought I would see THIS day!  I was driving by our local drugstore and just noticed a new sign "FREE DELIVERY" ~  I sure wish they would have thought of this 40 years ago when MY first child was born!   I guess it's better than the "DRIVE THRU"

"Are you an organ donor?"

Checking in at the reception desk prior to a procedure, the young lady asked if I were an organ donor.  Already scared to death about the procedure ahead of me, I said, "Yes mam.....but not today, I hope!  I really wanted to take them all back home with me!"

Today is a special day to remember & remind others just how important organ donation is.  I have friends that have given and I have friends that have received.  I am thankful for each of them.   I am an organ donor (and so is "Gladys Friday")

"Wrinkled" & Proud

Don't you just LOVE the honesty of children?  My 5 year old granddaughter and I were having a wonderful conversation this week when she stopped to say, "Nana, your makeup is WRINKLED?!?"  She began to "try" to smooth it only to announce, "Oh, it must just be your skin, it's ok Nana"

I guess I should have worked for "Plastic Surgeons" instead of REAL ones for 32 years!

If you're looking for me, I will be moving to Saginaw, Michigan since everything seems to be "sagging and all"

Enjoy your weekend my friends ~ thanks for sharing in another true story in the "Life of Gladys" (and Denise)

"Grand Moments" To Go ~

Another true story ~

My grandson attends Junior Assembly and is learning all about best manners, i.e. how to ask a girl to dance, how to dance, etc.

On the drive home after the "formal dinner" ~ when my daughter and I asked how it went.....here's his answer:

"Well, we learned to pull the chair out for the girls to be seated first, we learned how to use our napkin and we learned where the "tensils" go and when to use each "tensil."

We were a bit confused and very  interested in hearing more....(things ARE a bit different these days so you never know).....so we kept asking questions.  Trying his best to explain, he finally said,

"YOU KNOW.....YOU TENSILS....WHERE TO PUT YOU TENSILS AND WHICH TENSILS  to use with which food, like salad, your meal, dessert!"

Perhaps they should learn to spell and pronounce the words along with how to use them?  Do you know how to use "U-TENSILS?"  I'm just saying'

I am reminded that "communication" is a two way street......listening to what others say and listening to what I say to others"

Have a great weekend!
