Lots of chrome and FAST ~

Aunt Vera had a birthday last week. She had told her husband that she wanted something brand new and shiny with lots of chrome that would go from 0 to 150 in seconds.

He bought her a new set of scales.

When he is released from the hospital and is able to stand on his own.....I imagine he will be weighing less on those new scales.....once they remove the wiring from his jaw.

Valentine's Present for "Gladys Friday"

I hope you all had a wonderful Valentine's Day. I'd like to tell you about mine. The night before Valentine's Day, my husband and I were watching TV just before going to bed at 8:30 pm when I said (to gently remind him) ~ "You know, I haven't had any flowers in a very long time."

Thinking that would be a nice clue and a gentle way to say......."hello in there, you may want to purchase flowers for the wife".

Well, I guess I should have made sure he had his hearing aids in when I mentioned it because the very next day he came through the kitchen door carrying a 5 lb bag of FLOUR! (good thing it was self rising!)

"Heavenly Cookies"

A friend told me of a man that had just a short time left here on this earth. He and his wife had a very long & happy marriage, she was always taking good care of him. He wanted to stay at his home for as long as he could during his last days and she granted his wish.

One day she was busy in the kitchen, baking his favorite chocolate chip cookies when the aroma just floated down the hallway into his room. With barely enough strength, he managed to pull himself out of bed and walk down to the kitchen.

Much to his surprise there in the kitchen, stacked up in boxes were his FAVORITE chocolate chip cookies ~ every square inch of the kitchen was covered. His very thoughtful wife was continuing to bake and package them. After watching her for a while with a smile on his face, he said in a very weak voice, "You are so kind to bake these for me" ...... when all of a sudden she turned around and in a very loud voice said,

"PUT THOSE BACK RIGHT NOW, THEY ARE FOR THE FUNERAL!!!"

Moral of this Friday Funny: Thoughtfulness is "heavenly" ~ don't ya think?

I ran into an old friend the other day and the conversation went something like this:

"How's ya mommanem?" (translation - How is your Mother and them???)

"They ever git wared in?" (translation - Did they get their fence up???)

"Iz jest fizintogo overtastore" (translation - I was on my way to the store???)

"Dedzeet yet?" (translation - Did you eat yet???)

"Yountago git somum deet?" (translation - Do you want to go get something to eat???)

"Go cury ye stuff to ye car, will go over dat dar buff-aay" (translation - Put your things in the car and let's go to the buffet???)

My response after listening to that conversation was: "I WUZ FIXINTO!"

Moral of this story ~ be careful who you listen to, you may start talking like them.
